The announcement clears up the mystery of why "The Penthouse 2" has an odd number of episodes at thirteen, despite a lack of preemptions which normally mandate such situations. Entertainer Shin Dong-yup has been confirmed to emcee the event, where he will likely interview various cast members about their work.

The special episode has also become the place where news about "The Penthouse 3" is finally expected to be clarified. Though "The Penthouse 3" was confirmed quite some time ago along "The Penthouse 2" there has been no indication as to what cast has been confirmed for the drama or when it might start airing. Though originally expected to begin soon after "The Penthouse 2" current unconfirmed reports suggest that "The Penthouse 3" will start airing in June.
