[HanCinema's News] Special Screenings of "Soulmate" Sell Out
By William Schwartz | Published on
Byeon Woo-seok is an actor in high demand following the end of "Lovely Runner" last month, though it will be quite some time before he's able to finish another project for fans. However, last weekend, several CGV theaters began running screenings of "Soulmate" from last year, suspecting that Byeon Woo-seok's improved profile would boost interest in the nostalgic drama. This turned out to be correct, as the film's rerelease cleared over ten thousand admissions last weekend.

"Soulmate" was so successful that many CGV theaters will now be running it for a second weekend from June 6th to June 9th. Additionally, the high end CineQ theater in Sindorim will also be screening the film, which even managed to sell out in some of its showings. Byeon Woo-seok is not technically the lead of "Soulmate" as the film focuses on the friendship between two girls played by Kim Da-mi and Jeon So-nee, though his character is still fairly important in the story.
Nevertheless, there's no indication that Byeon Woo-seok's fans are disappointed with the movie. "Soulmate" is based on the 2016 Chinese film of the same title, which is available worldwide via Rakuten Viki. In the United States, the South Korean version of "Soulmate" is available to watch for free on Tubi.
