[HanCinema's News] Sul Kyung-gu and Kim Hee-ae confirmed for "The Whirlwind"

Netflix has confirmed that actors Sul Kyung-gu and Kim Hee-ae will star in the upcoming political thriller "The Whirlwind" on the worldwide streaming platform. "The Whirlwind" details the power battle between two government ministers. The Prime Minister Park Dong-ho will be played by Sul Kyung-gu and the Finance Minister Jeong Soo-jin will be played Kim Hee-ae, with the conflict expected to be between the two as they oppose each other's goals.

This is the third recent collaboration between the two actors, who also co-star in the as-yet unreleased films "The Moon" and "A Normal Family" which are both expected some time this year. Both actors are more recently in the news for Netflix because of their immediately upcoming projects. Sul Kyung-gu will appear in the feaure film "Kill Boksoon" in a leading role, albeit not the title one, on March 31st. Kim Hee-ae will appear in the series "Queenmaker" in the title role which will premiere on April 14th.
"The Whirlwind" will be written by Park Kyeong-soo, who is probably best known for "THE CHASER - Drama" from 2012. Director Kim Yong-wan of "The Cursed" will direct the project. Studio Dragon and Pan Entertainment will produce "The Whirlwind" and Netflix will distribute it. At present, there is no known release window.
