Sung Hyun-ah's agency later confirmed the news. They also stipulated that the funeral would be a family affair that would be handled privately.
Sung Hyun-ah first debuted as Miss Korea in 1994, when she was still a teenager. She used to act in many dramas and films, although lately her output has decreased significantly. She briefly came back on "Waves, Waves" in a minor role back in 2018, her first appearance in a drama since "Flames of Desire" in 2010.
Sung Hyun-ah has not had an easy time of life during those years. Her marriage collapsed during that time, as her husband had almost completely destroyed finances during that time. He committed suicide in 2017 as they were preparing to divorce.
