[HanCinema's News] "The Battle: Roar to Victory" Narrowly Beating "Exit - Movie" in Daily Ticket Sales

On August 13th the Korean Film Council released figures showing that on August 12th "The Battle: Roar to Victory" has beaten "Exit - Movie" in daily ticket sales for the second day in a row. The difference between the two is minor - 219,947 tickets for "The Battle: Roar to Victory" compared to 212,312 tickets for "Exit - Movie".

The news comes as "Exit - Movie" is certain to break six million overall ticket sales on August 13th while "The Battle: Roar to Victory" comfortably moves past the two million ticket threshhold. The movies face imminent competition from the latest American release in the 'Fast and the Furious' franchise and both face a daunting task in trying to keep sales up in the face of the Hollywood blockbuster.
Both movies appear to be near their saturation point. "Exit - Movie" now faces dubious prospects of hitting the fabled ten million mark, while "The Battle: Roar to Victory" is on pace for a distant second place in the major domestic releases of the summer. The war film has already easily outperformed "The Divine Fury" and "The King's Letters", but all three releases put together are unlikely to top the total earned by "Exit - Movie".
