[HanCinema's News] "The First Responders" on Break This Saturday

According to SBS, the firefighter/police hybrid drama "The First Responders" will not air a new episode this coming Saturday. This was to be the eleventh episode of the drama, but the preemption is being forced by the 2022 SBS Entertainment Awards which will be having their ceremony that same night. There is no particular urgency to the drama needing to end. The successor series to "The First Responders" is the legal drama "Payback" which isn't set to begin until January 6th.

"The First Responders" itself followed "One Dollar Lawyer" in this timeslot, and premiered with half its audience. However, "One Dollar Lawyer" ended with quite impressive ratings of 15.2%. The First Responders" has still been a decent success for SBS, opening with 7.6% ratings on its premiere date of November 12th. The most recent episode, the ninth on December 10th, had ratings of 8.2%, with the series' best ratings being 9.4% for the sixth episode on December 2nd.
