"The Glory" is the third most popular television drama on Netflix worldwide if English language programs are also included. "The Glory" is the only South Korean drama currently on the Netflix leaderboard aside from "Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow" which holds sixth place on the non-English leaderboard, not ranking in the top ten for the overall leaderboard. "The Glory" is the latest drama from actress Song Hye-kyo, her last project "Now, We Are Breaking Up" ending about a year ago.

"The Glory" was also written by Kim Eun-sook, a major name in her own right with such projects as "Mr. Sunshine" and "The King: Eternal Monarch" to her credit. According to FlixPatrol, the popularity of "The Glory" seems localized to specific regions. "The Glory" is, for January 10th, the most popular Netflix show in Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam. It is the second most popular in Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
