[HanCinema's News] tvN Dramas Sweep Good Data Report List for Most Popular Dramas of 2024

In the latest edition of the Good Data Corporation's analysis of South Korean dramas, the big data company has included a leaderboard for 2024 overall, ranking which dramas received the most social media references for the entire year. All five of the most popular dramas on social media this year to date are tvN projects. "Love Next Door" is fifth place, "Marry My Husband" is fourth place, "Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born" is third place, "Queen of Tears" second place, and "Lovely Runner" first place.

The strong position of "Lovely Runner" is surprising, as the time slip romance had only 5.762% ratings at its peak. However, "Lovely Runner" had been especially popular among younger viewers who are more likely to engage with their favorite dramas via social media than they are via watching television. "Queen of Tears" in second place with record-breaking ratings of 24.85% requires comparatively little explanation.
Seven weeks remain in the calendar year for further changes in these ratings. Of the remaining titles, "Squid Game - Season 2" is the most likely to crack these numbers, although it will only have six days to do so. Though all five of these dramas originally aired on tvN, they are scattered across different streaming platforms both domestically and worldwide.
