International interest in "Urban Myths" has been fueled by the larger number of popular music group stars who appear in the omnibus film. While "Urban Myths" is the first proper film from director Hong Won-ki, he is well-known in the South Korean entertainment industry as well as among K-Pop fans as a director for K-Pop music videos, including those featuring BTS. Consequently, the film has attracted much overseas interest. "Urban Myths" opened in the South Korean market on April 27th.
