The second episode of "The Goddess of Revenge" featured an unexpected appearance. Though the role for the young version of the lead character played by Kim Sa-rang had not been announced in advance, when young Kang Ha-rae appeared in the drama she was played by none other than the new actress Yang Jung-yeon. This is not her debut- Yang Jung-yeon is also appearing in the currently airing high school romance "Live On".

The appearance of a younger version of Kang Ha-rae was important for "The Goddess of Revenge" as the character presents a strict irony to the adult version and the modern day premise. The hard working girl works hard as a dishwasher to help support her single mother. Yet in spite of this difference, viewers were impressed at how both the younger and older version of the character give off the same vibe, suggesting strong continuity in how the character is drawn.
In a statement released on November 23rd, Yang Jung-yeon's agency stated that Yang Jung-yeon considered it an honor to work alongside Kim Sa-rang in portraying the same character. They also said that Yang Jung-yeon learned a lot from the experience shooting on set and was working hard to show off greater breadth in future roles. The second episode of "The Goddess of Revenge" had ratings of 3.7%.
