[HanCinema's News] Yoo Yeon-seok Receives Plaudits for Fashion Sense in "When the Phone Rings"

Actor Yoo Yeon-seok is no stranger to the limelight, but his latest project "When the Phone Rings" has attracted new interest to the actor because, unlike in his previous roles, he is unusually well-dressed. Yoo Yeon-seok plays a presidential spokesperson who must look good for his job and dresses accordingly in exceptional suits. Though the conflict of the drama centers around the kidnapping of his character's wife, image, rather than romance, is his main focus, and this filters through his wadrobe.

The effect has been especially notable because Yoo Yeon-seok does not wear a singular suit. He switches between black, blue, and white clothing of different styles between scenes, and is seldom seen even wearing the same necktie twice. This gives his appearance a smart edge, as does his cold, calculated hairstyle. Fans have enjoyed discussing the sheer variety of his look as "When the Phone Rings" has hit 5.7% ratings in its fourth episode on November 30th.
"When the Phone Rings" has also had fairly strong numbers internationally. It recorded 29.7 million hours viewed on Netflix from November 25th to December 1st, the third highest for non-English shows and the fifth highest if English shows are also included. FlixPatrol had it as the fourth most popular show on Netflix worldwide on December 5th.
