Hwang Jung-eum Points Out the Wrong Person

"A complaint was indeed filed", Hwang Jung-eum's agency, Y ONE Entertainment, said on the 22nd. "We think there was a communication problem. Hwang Jung-eum acknowledged her wrongs and tried to solve it as well as possible".

The Nowon Police Station in Seoul said on the 20th that it is investigating Hwang Jung-eum after receiving a complaint against her on defamation charges.

Hwang Jung-eum is accused of defaming A by publicly posting an article on her Instagram in April pointing her out, who has nothing to do with her ex-husband Lee Young-don's affair.

At the time, A protested by posting an article that said she was not the mistress. Immediately after the controversy, Hwang Jung-eum said, "There was a misunderstanding in the process of organizing personal affairs. I contacted the person who suffered the damage directly", and apologized through Instagram, saying, "I apologize for making a wrong judgment".

Hwang Jung-eum's agency, Y ONE Entertainment, also said, "Hwang Jung-eum directly apologized to A", adding, "We are making every effort to resolve the damage smoothly".

However, about three months after the apology, Hwang Jung-eum was sued for defamation. It is said that Hwang Jeong-eum's legal representative cut the settlement in half while proceeding. On the other hand, Hwang Jeong-eum's agency claimed that before the final settlement, A suddenly demanded twice the amount of the existing settlement.

The agency said, "A demanded twice the settlement amount because she felt Hwang Jung-eum's apology was insufficient. We have been informed of her intention to take criminal action if we refuse to comply".

Hwang Jung-eum married Lee Young-don, a professional golfer two years older than Hwang in 2016. They had two sons. Recently, Hwang Jung-eum posted an Instagram post suggesting her husband's affair and said she is filing for divorce.
