The film "Inside Men" will be remade as a three-part movie series, not a drama ("Inside Men - Drama").

According to the production company Hive Media Corp on the 16th, "Inside Men", which previously recorded the highest audience numbers among restricted (adults-only) films, is set to be newly produced as a film trilogy. The story will depict the origins of the 'insiders' within a massive cartel formed by the media, capital, and power in the late 1980s.

The original film was both a critical and commercial success, winning Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Planning at the 53rd Grand Bell Awards, as well as Best Picture at the 37th Blue Dragon Film Awards.

The new trilogy will be co-directed by Kim Min-bum, who worked as an assistant director on "12.12: The Day" and "The Flu", and Kim Jin-seok, who participated as an assistant director on "Harbin", "The Man Standing Next", and "Veteran", and adapted the Disney+ original series "Made in Korea". The screenplay will be written by Lee Gi-cheol ("The Thieves", "Assassination", "Harbin"), with adaptation by Kim Hyo-seok ("The Insiders: The Original").

The project has been in pre-production since last year. "Inside Men - Part 1" and "Inside Men - Part 2" are scheduled to be filmed simultaneously this year, while "Inside Men - Part 3" is planned for next year. Filming is expected to begin in the first half of this year once the main cast is finalized.

Earlier plans to produce the project as a series, involving actors Song Kang-ho and Koo Kyo-hwan and director Mo Wan-il, were ultimately canceled.
