[Interview] Chatty Yoon Kyung-ho, "I Could Go on, But I Don't Want to Tire You"

After the success of "Agent Kim Reactivated", actor Yoon Kyung-ho proves his warm, witty personality is the real deal.

"I have so much more to say... but I'm worried it'll make the reporters' jobs harder".

After the finale, Yoon Kyung-ho said he put his phone down and spent time with his family while countless congratulatory messages poured in. Even as he shared his heartfelt thoughts on the drama's conclusion, his trademark humor quickly shone through.

"I don't know if I'll ever receive this much love again in my life. I was so happy that it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I actually have a lot more I'd like to say, but I'll stop here in case it makes the reporters' jobs harder".|

His playful comment drew laughter throughout the interview.

Known for his endless chatter on variety shows like "Yoo Jae-suk's Excuse Go", Yoon Kyung-ho has even earned the nickname 'meal buddy' from fans. Asked about being mentioned as a potential grand prize (Daesang) candidate for the show, he responded with both humor and sincerity.

"Back then, talking too much was considered one of my flaws. I'm really grateful that people have come to appreciate that side of me. I also love the nickname 'meal buddy'. It may be one-sided, but I like thinking that maybe someone actually missed hearing me ramble. I'd love to be someone people feel they can connect with. As for being mentioned as a Daesang candidate, I'm already thankful just for that".

"My 13% silent vow came true after just two episodes; even my agency had an emergency meeting".

At the drama's press conference, Yoon Kyung-ho had jokingly promised that if the ratings surpassed 13%, he would remain completely silent for 13 hours. To his surprise, the drama exceeded 15% after only two episodes and eventually soared past 25%, turning his joke into reality.

"After just two episodes, I suddenly had to keep my promise. Then the ratings went over 25%, and I thought, 'How am I supposed to handle this?' Once the ratings passed the goal, everyone at my agency gathered for an emergency meeting. Someone even suggested filming the entire 13 hours continuously to prove I was serious, but we figured viewers would get exhausted watching that".

He admitted that staying silent was far more difficult than he expected.

"Not talking at all actually made me feel depressed at times. In the end, I couldn't hold it in and started talking during a radio appearance. (Laughs) If there's one lesson I learned, it's that I should be much more careful about making promises".

"I even wore my favorite shoes today... but my investments haven't been so lucky".

Although there wasn't a separate photo session, Yoon Kyung-ho revealed another amusing behind-the-scenes story.

"I wore a pair of shoes I really treasure because I wanted to look nice for the reporters today. They were a gift. I didn't even have time to buy new clothes".

He then laughed while sharing an unexpectedly candid story about money and fortune-telling.

"A fortune teller once told me that money tends to slip through my fingers, so I tried investing in Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix stocks... but that didn't work out either. (Laughs) I'm trying my best to work hard, but the money just keeps disappearing. Maybe I should start by spending less on food".

"I changed the meaning of my name and remind myself every morning".

Yoon Kyung-ho also opened up about once considering changing his name to improve his career.

"I actually went to have my name changed because I wanted to become a successful actor. But since I'd already been working under this name for so long, I was advised not to change it. Instead, I changed the Chinese characters used in my name. Every morning, I write my name down as a way of reminding myself to stay grounded and focused".

Having showcased both powerful action scenes and his naturally lovable personality through "Agent Kim Reactivated", Yoon Kyung-ho said that rather than becoming 'the greatest actor', he hopes for something much simpler.

"I've been told that I'm not destined to accumulate great wealth, so instead, I hope my career never stops, like an endless strand of noodles. I want to keep working steadily and remain an actor who continues to grow alongside my generation".
