[Interview] Kim Hye-jun Reveals her Ultimate Celebrity Crush

Actress Kim Hye-jun opened up about her own experiences as a devoted fan.

On the 8th, Kim Hye-jun sat down with iMBC Entertainment at a location in Gangnam, Seoul, for an interview marking the conclusion of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama "My Bias, My Boss".

"My Bias, My Boss" is an office romance and coming-of-age story about Nam  Da-reum, a new employee who joins the company where her ultimate idol works as a fashion director in hopes of meeting her favorite celebrity.

Kim Hye-jun played Nam  Da-reum, who joins APPELLO with one goal in mind: to become a successful fan and finally meet her ultimate bias. Drawing on years of devoted fandom, Da-reum works hard to become someone special to her idol while navigating the trials and errors of her first years in the workforce and growing into her own person along the way.

Kim Hye-jun revealed that she, too, had experience being a devoted fan of someone. "I went to an all-girls middle school and high school, so there wasn't an idol group I didn't like", she joked.

Describing herself as a 'Pink Blood', a passionate fan of SM Entertainment artists, Kim Hye-jun said, "I wasn't as obsessive as Da-reum. Instead, I had a lot of rooms in my heart". She added, "I especially loved Girls' Generation. I even got to see them at award ceremonies and on variety shows".

Those experiences helped her immerse herself in the character. She also expressed her gratitude to Kang Hoon, her senior in romantic comedies, saying he was a great source of help. Kim Hye-jun said, "Hoon oppa did a great job anchoring the story. He especially brought out the comedy so well, and I think that helped make our drama richer".

Thanks to the experience, she said she felt very satisfied with her first romantic comedy, "My Bias, My Boss". "I think this is the first time I've shown such a different side of myself, and I found it quite exhilarating. It made me want to show even more new sides of myself. Just as I did with this project, I want to continue expanding my range as an actress", she emphasized.

"My Bias, My Boss" concluded its 12-episode run on the 8th.
