An interview with Kim Sung-cheol of Netflix's original series "Hellbound - Season 2" was held at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 30th.

"Hellbound - Season 2" unleashes a chaotic world exacerbated by the continuous hellbound decrees, where lawyer Min Hye-jin of Sodo, The New Truth Society, and the Arrowheads get entangled amidst the sudden resurrections of The New Truth's Chairman Jeong Jin-soo and Park Jeong-ja.

When asked how he felt when he saw the released work, Kim Sung-cheol said honestly, "I thought, 'I should turn off my cell phone on the day it's released'. I'm not feeling it at all right now, and I don't know how to respond to it".

He then added, "I thought everyone would know, it can't be all good. I did my best because it was the path I chose and I was responsible for, and I was very satisfied with the result. I didn't want to be swayed by the evaluation because I thought a good work was made".

Kim Sung-cheol played the role of Jeong Jin-soo instead of Yoo Ah-in who was in "Hellbound" season 1 but was dropped out on charges of drug use.

Regarding the reenactment of Yoo Ah-in's demonstration, Kim Sung-cheol said, "The direction that the director was thinking was to start with Jeong Jin-soo's revival at the end after receiving the demonstration. However, he thought about whether to film it or not to show that Kim Sung-cheol is Jeong Jin-soo", adding, "I thought I should give some information to the viewers. I don't think there is anything we can do about comparing that".

In an interview conducted earlier, director Yeon Sang-ho also expressed concern that playing the same character as someone else could be a "bad choice as an actor".

Kim Sung-cheol, who heard this, continued, "Actually, I think playing the character is more important than comparison of any acting. It's not about how good I am at acting or how bad I am, but I had to show the viewers what I think Jeong Jin-soo is. It was a situation where I had to be compared, but I decided to do it, and I heard that the director had a lot of worries until the final editing".

When asked if he wanted to act out "Hellbound" season 1, Kim Sung-cheol answered honestly, "Then it would have been too different. I think "Hellbound" has its style. The first 1 to 3 episodes played by Yoo Ah-in was great and Jeong Jin-soo stayed in my head throughout episodes 4 to 6. I think it was that important of a role, so I don't think I can do Season 1".

In addition, Kim Sung-cheol said, "I think there is nothing but gain. I'm grateful for the comparison itself, and I've been watching the work since a long time ago and I think he's a really good actor", adding, "I don't know if I can say this, but I would have been compared even if Timothée Chalamet, for example, a famous Hollywood actor, did it".

Meanwhile, "Hellbound - Season 2" was released on Netflix on the 25th.
