An interview for the finale of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama "Perfect Crown" (written by Yoo Ji-won-I and directed by Park Joon-hwa) was held on the afternoon of the 19th at a café in Anguk-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. During the interview, Park Joon-hwa spoke about the drama and its success.
The series concluded with its 12th episode on the 16th, recording an impressive nationwide viewership rating of 13.8% according to Nielsen Korea.
Speaking about the strong ratings, Park Joon-hwa said, "While working on this drama, I received many messages and calls from people around me. Even friends I hadn't spoken to in a long time contacted me, saying they felt excitement again for the first time in years while watching the drama I directed. I believe many viewers truly enjoyed our series, and I'm very grateful for that".
However, regarding the recent controversy surrounding historical distortion claims, he admitted, "The drama received a lot of love and strong ratings, but because of mistakes made by our production team, we were unable to provide complete enjoyment until the very end, and that is something I regret".
He also expressed gratitude to viewers, saying, "I sincerely thank everyone who watched the drama. I hope we can once again deliver the kind of emotion viewers felt through this series. Thank you for staying with us until the very end".
