Japanese Fans to Gather for Park Yong-ha Memorial

Some 1,500 Japanese fans of Korean Wave star Park Yong-ha plan to visit Korea on Thursday to mark the first anniversary of the star's death, Park's former management company Yona Entertainment said over the weekend. Park committed suicide last year.

The company said it originally planned to hold a simple ceremony for his family members and friends, but decided to hold a larger event after Park's Japanese fans conveyed their wishes to attend. The event will be held at a memorial park in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

Meanwhile, an exhibition in remembrance of the singer and actor will be held in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and Nagoya in September, the company added. Park won over Japanese fans after releasing several albums in the country.
