JEON Ji-hyeon Readies Debut on World Stage

Top Korean actress and model Jun Ji-hyun, going by her international name Giana Jun, is currently travelling Asia on a press tour for her upcoming worldwide debut, "Blood: The Last Vampire". Released in Japan last week, where much of the film was shot, the manga-comic based thriller will be released in Korea and across most of Asia this June, with a US release slated for July.
JEON plays Saya, a 400-year-old vampire in a 16-year-old body, who, in the guise of student at a US army base in Tokyo, must hunt down demons and discover their leader. It is both the actress' first action role and English-speaking part, two facts she admits she found very challenging, particularly the latter one.
The film, directed by Chris Nahon (Empire of Wolves, Kiss of the Dragon), is a Japan-France-Hong Kong co-production. JEON has expressed the wish to work in Hollywood when the right script comes along. Her next project will be a South Korean production.
