Jin Se-yeon Ready to Lure Viewers with Another Period Drama

Actress Jin Se-yeon is set to tempt viewers with TV Chosun's new period drama slated to begin airing this weekend.

Set in the Chosun Dynasty, "Queen: Love and War" depicts the conspiracies and palace intrigue that take place amid the selection of a new queen.

Jin, who has appeared in a couple of period dramas, is even more excited this time, as she is playing a double role, which she believes would expand her acting spectrum with a wide scope of versatility.   

In the upcoming drama, Jin plays a woman who tries to win the heart of a king and become a queen, as she wants to find the killer of her twin sister, and only becoming the queen would give her enough power to do so.

Jin stars with actor Kim Min-kyu, who is also excited to play a king. "I've eagerly dreamed to do a part in a period drama, as I grew up watching many hit period dramas", Kim said. "But I also feel worried I might mess things up, because I'm new to it".

In an interview with the Chosun Ilbo in Seoul on Thursday, Jin and Kim said they were able to rely on each other on set, as they are at the same age and they are still learning acting.

"The moment I saw him practicing, I knew he would surely capture viewers' hearts", Jin said. "I also practiced a lot to play two totally different characters at the same time, while trying to change the way I talk, walk and act".

The first episode of the drama starts on Saturday.
