Joo Jong-hyuk-I in "The First Seventeenth"

Actor Joo Jong-hyuk-I is joining tvN's upcoming drama "The First Seventeenth".

According to reports on May 29th, Joo Jong-hyuk-I has confirmed his appearance in the new tvN series, where he will star alongside actors Jung So-min and Kim Yohan.

"The First Seventeenth" is a fantasy historical romance set in the Joseon era. The story follows Heo Seol-hee, a woman who loses everything after her family is destroyed and is given a chance to return to the past. Determined to protect her loved ones, she embarks on a relentless quest for revenge while fighting against fate.

The drama is based on a script written by Kim Eun-yoo, which won the Grand Prize at the 2nd KT Studio Genie Series Competition in 2023.

Joo Jong-hyuk-I made his acting debut in 2015 through the short film "Mongma". He rose to prominence for his portrayal of the ambitious lawyer Kwon Min-woo in the ENA drama "Extraordinary Attorney Woo", earning widespread recognition and praise. Since then, he has continued to build a diverse filmography through projects such as "D.P", "Yumi's Cells - Season 2", "Happiness - Drama", "Unmasked", "Confidence Queen", and "Tempest".

In addition to his screen work, Joo Jong-hyuk-I recently challenged himself on stage for the first time since his debut through the play "French Safe – Who Shall Climb the North Wall?". His stable performance and commanding stage presence have received positive reviews from audiences and critics alike.

Meanwhile, "The First Seventeenth" is scheduled to begin filming in August.
