Jung Ho-yeon Eyes Next Project "Outback" Alongside Ryu Jun-yeol and Hong Kyung

Actress Jung Ho-yeon appears to have found her next project: Netflix's upcoming series "Outback".

According to an entertainment industry source on July 21, "Jung Ho-yeon is set to join "Outback", where she is expected to star alongside Ryu Jun-yeol and Hong Kyung".

Her agency, BH Entertainment, confirmed that she has received the offer but stated, "It is one of the projects she has been offered and is currently under review".

"Outback" is based on the mystery thriller webtoon Geudai, originally serialized on Lezhin Comics. The story follows Si-on, who travels to Australia in search of his missing older sister, and Hans, a mysterious man whose path becomes intertwined with his.

News of Ryu Jun-yeol and Hong Kyung's involvement in the project had previously been reported.

The series is being produced by Shortcake, the production company behind the acclaimed series "Weak Hero Class 1", and will be directed by Jeon Doo-kwan, who previously helmed TVING's "Seen".

Jung Ho-yeon recently made her big-screen debut with the film "HOPE - 2026", which premiered on July 15th. The film surpassed 2 million admissions within just five days of its release, signaling a strong box office performance.

She also drew global attention by participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final's trophy trunk ceremony as a Global Ambassador.
