K-Pop Artists Dominate Online Searches In Japan

If the internet's search rankings are any indication of the top trends in Japan, k-pop is one of them.

According to the search rankings for the top male and female entertainers and sports athletes for January 1 to October 31st 2011, 18 of the top 20 spots were dominated by k-pop artists.
With the exception of Lady Gaga at #5 and Avril Lavigne at #17, many of the top k-pop stars were seen. Girls Generation took the number one spot followed by Kara at #2, TVXQ at #2. Jang Geung-seok sealed his spot at #4, Big Bang at #6, Super Junior at #7, Kim Hyun-joong at #8, FT Island at #9, and 2PM at #10.
Following in the 11-20 bracket, SHINee was at #11, CNBLUE #12, Super Noval #13, JYJ following at #14, Beast at #15, 2NE1 at #16, After School at #18, Kim Tae-hee at #19, and T-ara at #20.
