KBS 2TV "Beauty and Mr. Romantic" Reveals Lineup

A solid lineup of actors appearing in KBS2's new weekend drama "Beauty and Mr. Romantic" has been unveiled.

KBS2's new weekend drama "Beauty and Mr. Romantic" which is scheduled to air for the first time next month, is a romance growth drama about a top actor who fell to the bottom overnight and a first-time drama PD who loves him and wakes him up again.

Previously, the production revealed the main lineup of actors Im Soo-hyang and Ji Hyun-woo. The drama raised expectations by unveiling a lineup of veteran actors, including actress Cha Hwa-yeon, Park Sang-won, Lee Il-hwa, Jung Jae-soon, Im Ye-jin, Lee Doo-il, Yoon Yoo-sun, Kim Hye-sun, and Park Geun-hyung, who appear as special guests.

Cha Hwa-yeon plays the role of Baek Mi-ja, the mother of Park Do-ra (Im Soo-hyang). Baek Mi-ja lives a hellish life when her husband, whom she knew only as her family, suddenly dies in a hit-and-run accident. However, she succeeds in turning the tables thanks to her daughter Do-ra, who became a star overnight.

Park Sang-won plays Gong Jin-taek, the chairman of APP Group, and Lee Il-hwa plays Jang Soo-yeon, the wife of Gong Jin-taek and Kim Seon-yeong's (Yoon Yoo-sun) girls' high school alumni. Gong Jin-taek is neat, reasonable, and charismatic at work but friendly at home. Jang Soo-yeon came to Korea while studying in the U.S. and started a family thanks to her parents' arrangement, but she kept it a secret.

Jung Jae-soon plays the role of Jin-taek's aunt Gong Dae-sook. She is the only adult left in the Gong family and is worried about the future of the family. Im Ye-jin plays the role of So Geum-ja, the grandmother of Go Pil-seung (Ji Hyun-woo) and mother-in-law of Kim Seon-yeong. Lee Doo-il and Yoon Yoo-sun play the roles of father Go Hyeon-cheol and mother Kim Seon-yeong, respectively.

Go Hyeon-cheol is a good father to Pil-seung but he leaves his job and fails at every business he tries, upsetting his wife. Kim Seon-yeong is a tough, bright and lovely person who urges her son Pil-seung to watch out for women.

Kim Hye-sun plays Hong Ae-gyo, the hidden woman of Gong Jin-taek and Gong Jin-dan's mother. After coming into the Gong house, Hong Ae-gyo, whose family members hate her, struggles to make her son Jin-dan the chairman of APP Group.

Park Geun-hyung shows a strong presence as Kim Joon-seop, Pil-seung's maternal grandfather and Seon-yeong's father. Kim Joon-seop raised Seon-yeong by himself after his wife passed away early, and he lives in Seon-yeong's house after retirement as the principal.

"Beauty and Mr. Romantic" is a re-meeting work between writer Kim Sa-kyeong and director Hong Seok-goo of "My Only One" which will air for the first time next month following "Live Your Own Life".
