Kim Hyun-joong accused of hitting girlfriend and the after effect

Singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong's Hallyu star image has been greatly affected by the lawsuit regarding the abuse on his girlfriend.

The famous SS501, "Boys over Flowers", "Generation of Youth" and "Playful Kiss" star Kim Hyun-joon was sued by his girlfriend on the 21st. Seoul Songpa Police say Kim Hyun-joong assaulted his girlfriend known as 'A', in the time frame of May to July in his apartment. 'A' claimed they were arguing over his ex-girlfriend when this happened and her rib cage broke, resulting in 6 weeks of treatment.

Kaist, Kim Hyun-joong's management reported, "There was a physical fight once but it wasn't assault. The broken rib cage could be the result of a struggle or a playful accident between the two of them. 'A' is someone he's known since 2012 but they only started seeing each other in recent months although they're not anymore".

Kim Hyun-joong is currently on a world tour in China and Japan. Additional tours have been planned with his popularity spreading all over the world. However, there are many concerns ever since the 'assault' incident.

His management claims, "We have signed the deals and it's a promise to the fans so we can't cancel anything. After the case is over, he's going to take some time to relflect".

Kim Hyun-joong's charges haven't been confirmed but it might be hard to avoid the criticism in using violence on his girlfriend. Besides the world tour, he has another promotional event for "Generation of Youth" lined up in China which is now under red light.

The promotional manager stated, "We don't know if we're continuing this. Foreign fans are tolerant when it comes to scandals and sexual assaults but not violence. It's only been heard one way but if the assault is acknowledged then the damage is greater".

Kim Hyun-joong will be investigated as a defendant and come back to Korea for more police investigations on the 25th.
