Kim Ji-eun to Become Kim Hee-ae's Daughter in "Gold Digger"

Actor Kim Ji-eun will transform into Kim Hee-ae's daughter in the upcoming drama "Gold Digger".

According to a report by Xports News on the 5th, Kim Ji-eun has joined the new JTBC drama "Gold Digger", where she will play the eldest daughter of the female lead portrayed by Kim Hee-ae.

"Gold Digger" is based on the British BBC series of the same name, "Gold Digger". The original story follows Julia, a wealthy divorcée celebrating her 60th birthday, who unexpectedly begins a relationship with a 33-year-old man named Benjamin.

The drama drew attention in the U.K. for its bold premise featuring a 27-year age gap between the main characters. The Korean adaptation will be created by Kang Eun-kyeong, known for "Bread, Love and Dreams" and the "Dr. Romantic" franchise, and written by Seon Yeong of "Forecasting Love and Weather".

Kim Hee-ae has been cast as the female lead, while Steve Sanghyun Noh is expected to star as her younger love interest. The drama is drawing attention as Kim Hee-ae returns to television following the hit series "The World of the Married", with viewers anticipating the unconventional romance between the older woman and her younger partner.

In the series, Kim Ji-eun will portray the eldest daughter among three siblings, watching her mother fall in love with a younger man. Expectations are high for the presence she will bring to the drama's bold, melodramatic storyline.
