Kim Sejeong in "High School Queen" With Bae Hyeon-seong, and Cho Han-gyeol

Kim Sejeong, Bae Hyeon-seong, and Cho Han-gyeol are set to headline "High School Queen" (working title), an action-packed romance with a satisfying revenge twist.

On July 31, production company Studio Dragon announced the new drama, written by Lee Jung-tae and directed by Yoon Seong-sik, confirming the three actors as its leads.

Based on the webtoon of the same name, "High School Queen" follows Kim Cheong-ha (Kim Sejeong), the greatest female warrior of the Joseon Dynasty and its queen. After waking up 400 years later in the body of Kim Da-jin, a high school girl who has been bullied, she uses her regal dignity and unmatched martial arts skills to take down school bullies while pursuing the dreams and love she never fulfilled in her previous life.

Former I.O.I and Gugudan member Kim Sejeong takes on the role of Kim Cheong-ha. Awakening in Da-jin's body, Cheong-ha begins delivering justice to those who have ruled the school through violence, combining the poise of a queen with the instincts of a seasoned warrior. Following standout performances in "The Uncanny Counter", "Business Proposal", and "Brewing Love", Kim is expected to showcase her signature blend of dynamic action and charming romance once again.

Bae Hyeon-seong, who has continued his rise through projects including "Our Blues", "Family by Choice", and "Shin's Project", will play a dual role as Seong Won-joo, Cheong-ha's loyal royal bodyguard from the Joseon era, and Seong Si-woo, the ace of the school's kendo team in the present day.

Cho Han-gyeol, who recently made a strong impression in "Undercover Miss Hong", will also take on two roles: King Yi Nyeong, the absolute ruler of Joseon, and Lee Do-yoon, a mysterious transfer student in the modern era.

Featuring a lineup of rising stars, "High School Queen" is scheduled to premiere as a TVING Original drama in 2027.
