Kim So-yeon to Sell Sex Toys in "A Virtuous Business"

JTBC's "A Virtuous Business" depicts the self-reliance, growth, and friendship of Han Jeong-sook (Kim So-yeon), Oh Geum-hee (Kim Sung-ryung), Seo Yeong-bok (Kim Sun-young), and Lee  Joo-ri (Lee Se-hee) in a rural village in 1992, when sex (姓) was taboo.

Jeong-sook was elected as Geumje's number one Chili Pepper girl, but married her husband, her first date, and led a respectable and passive life. She is worried about monthly rent because she cannot even buy her only son a new bag. To make money on her own, she starts selling adult products made in foreign countries. Geum-hee joins to help Jeong-sook, who worked as her housekeeper and serves as the brains.

Yeong-bok is a mother of multiple children. She starts selling clothes to get a room for her four children. Joo-ri runs a beauty salon and is a 'single mom' who raises her son alone. She is the youngest among the four members of the sales team, but she never gets frustrated under any circumstances.

Yeon Woo-jin also strengthens the cast. He is Kim  Do-hyeon, a police officer from the U.S. He grew up in a wealthy family and graduated from a prestigious Ivy League university. He gets promoted at high speed through special teams at Gangnam Police Station in Seoul. He comes down to Geumje Police Station where he has no connection, and his secret is expected to arouse curiosity.

It is a remake of "Brief Encounters", which was aired by ITV in the U.K. in 2016. It is directed by producer Jo Woong who is on "Love All Play" (2022). It is written by Choi Bo-rim and set to be broadcast in the second half of the year.
