"Goldland" is set in the domestic casino Goldland, which was established to revive abandoned mine areas that have been underdeveloped due to the specification of the coal business. It depicts the story of human desire surrounding an unknown gold bullion worth 60 billion won and someone seeking real life.

In the play, Kim Sung-cheol plays the role of Woo-gi, Hee-joo's middle school classmate and gang member. He experiences internal and external conflicts as he is intertwined with Hee-joo for the first time in a decade and gold bars that he encounters at an unexpected scene. He is expected to work with actress Park Bo-young, who was offered the role of Hee-joo earlier.

Kim Sung-cheol, who debuted with the musical "Adolescence" in 2014, expanded his career from a musical star to a rising star through the drama "Prison Playbook" and the movie "The Night Owl". Since then, he has established himself as a leading actor by being recognized for his excellent acting skills and character digestibility in the dramas "Our Beloved Summer" and "Hellbound - Season 2". He will visit the screens in May as the main character of the movie "The Old Woman with the Knife" based on a novel of the same name.

The director of "Goldland" will be Kim Seong-hoon-III, who directed the films "Rampant", "Confidential Assignment" and "Chief Detective 1958" while the screenplay will be written by Hwang Jo-yoon, who wrote the films "Rampant", "Memoir of a Murderer" and "Masquerade". The platform is still undecided.
