tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama "Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born" depicts a poor but romantic era right after the Korean War in the 1950s.

Based on the Naver webtoon of the same name (writer Seo Yi-re/Namon), "Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born" depicts a fresh subject called Women's Gukgeuk (a branch of Changgeuk that gained huge popularity around the Korean War in the 1950s, with all roles played by women), and the main character "Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born" overcoming her limitations and becoming a star of the Gukgeuk Company.

In the stills released, Kim Tae-ri is seen selling fish in a fishing village in Mokpo, which smells like the sea. The modest hanbok jeogori, short cut hair, and the appearance of an alley leader announces a perfect transformation by the actress.

In contrast, the authors of "Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born" are showing their trust in Kim Tae-ri's role as Yoon Jeong-nyeon. When the two authors heard that Kim Tae-ri, the real muse of the original, was confirmed to be on the show, they were excited. Director Jeong Ji-in also said, "Yoon Jeong-nyeon, played by Kim Tae-ri, is a person who shows a different level of charm from traditional Gukgeuk, although slightly different from traditional Gukgeuk", adding, "She acted really well. I felt like I had met an artist on the horizon".

Meanwhile, tvN's new Saturday-Sunday drama "Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born" will premiere at 9:20 PM on Saturday, October 12th, which will bring back the heyday of women's national drama.
