Korean Drama Debuts in Europe

A popular Korean TV series is scheduled to make a European debut next month.
Beginning in mid February Hungary's government-run station, MTV will begin airing "Dae Jang Geum, " a 2003 TV series based on the first female royal physician of the Joseon Dynasty.
The series will air two times a week for six months.
A representative of MTV Hungary said "Dae Jang Geum", also known as "Jewel in the Palace" in English, was chosen for its cultural and educational values and also for its marketability.
A Korean ambassador said airing the series on a national public station will be instrumental in introducing Korea's popular culture to Hungary and the rest of Europe.
