Synopsis
"Melo Movie" is a romance about youth who want to both find love and pursue dreams, overcoming trauma as they discover and inspire each other, and their movie-like times. Director Oh Choong-hwan ("Hotel Del Luna", "Start Up", "Castaway Diva") joins forces with screenwriter Lee Na-eun-I ("Our Beloved Summer") to present a heartwarming story about wavering youth embracing dreams and love. Choi Wooshik ("Our Beloved Summer", "A Killer Paradox") plays Go Gyeom, a movie-lover who starts out as an extra actor and becomes a film critic. In true melodramatic fashion, the name "Kim Moo-bi" - a name that sounds like the movies he loves so much - catches his attention. Park Bo-young ("Daily Dose of Sunshine", "Concrete Utopia") takes on the role of Kim Moo-bi, who begins working in the industry with mixed feelings that stem from her father's immense love for movies. Lee Jun-young ("Badland Hunters", "Mask Girl") plays Hong Si-joon, a self-proclaimed genius but unknown songwriter in reality. Jeon So-nee ("Parasyte: The Grey", "Soulmate") plays Son Joo-ah, a screenwriter and Si-joon's ex-girlfriend with a long history. "Melo Movie" premieres on Valentine's Day 2025.
