Korean Remakes Arriving in Korea

Three foreign remakes of Korean films will be released this month August. The original Korean films are: LEE Hyeon-seung's "Il Mare" (2000), LEE Jeong-kuk's "The Letter" (1997) and Hur Jin-ho's "Christmas in August" (1998) all of them are dramas
The most eye catching is the Hollywood remake of "Il Mare" titled The Lake House, starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. Koreans can start making comparisons as the The Lake House is already released in Korea. The tale about a house near the water which connects two 'meant to be together' persons who occupy it at different times is remade by director Alejandro Agresti.
The critically acclaimed "Christmas in August" is remade under the same title by Japanese director Nagasaki Shunichi. The third upcoming Korean remake is from Thailand, "The Letter" is directed by Phaoon Chandrasiri.
