Korean Wave Reaches American Shores on Social Media:Time
Published on | Source
The US magazine Time says the Korean Wave, or Hallyu, is reaching American shores thanks to social media websites.
An article published on Thursday notes that sales of the first solo album by Taeyang a member of Big Bang reached number two on iTunes' R&B sales chart in the US and number one in Canada.
Hallyu has already made significant inroads into many parts of Asia but the article says sites like YouTube and Twitter have helped Korean artists reach American audiences as well noting that Taeyang didn't even promote his album in North America.
