On the same day, an official from Kim Doyeon's agency Fantagio also made an official statement to OSEN, saying, "We are still considering appearing in "Moon Flower"".

On this day, a media outlet reported that Lee Jong-won-I and Kim Doyeon were selected as male and female protagonists in the new drama "Moon Flower".

"Moon Flower" is a fusion historical drama about a prisoner-of-war woman named Yang Cho-seol who makes swords, meeting Baek Je-hee, a general of an exiled enemy country. Lee Jong-won-I has been proposed to play the role of Baek Je-hee, and Kim Doyeon is discussing her appearance as Yang Cho-seol.

Lee Jong-won-I, who debuted with the 2018 web drama "Go, Back Diary", received full-fledged attention through the 2022 drama "The Golden Spoon". Since then, he has emerged as a male lead as he was selected as a partner for actor Lee Hanee's return work in the drama "Knight Flower" which aired last year. Recently, he has confirmed his appearance in the movie "Salmokji" and it is expected that Lee Jong-won-I will make a comeback in the drama with "Moon Flower".

Kim Doyeon, a former member of the project girl group I.O.I, has drawn attention since her debut due to her resemblance to actress Jun Ji-hyun and height. Thanks to her performance, she played the youth role of Jun Ji-hyun in the drama "Jirisan" and Lee Hanee in "One the Woman". If she is confirmed to appear in "Moon Flower" it will be Kim Doyeon's first challenge to become the leading lady.
