"Grim Reaper: Life Extension Project" is a human black comedy about a duo of grim reapers, a rule-abiding rookie and a rule-breaking mentor, who get involved in the forbidden act of extending human life. The project is the latest work by director Lee Gye-byeok, known for films such as "Luck.Key", "Cheer Up, Mr. Lee", and the Netflix film "Sweet and Sour".
In the drama, Lee Min-ki plays Kang-rim, a veteran grim reaper who often bends the rules but consistently ranks first in performance. Meanwhile, Hyungwon takes on the role of Joon-ho, a rookie grim reaper who strictly adheres to principles and views death purely as a job.
The project has been planned from its early stages as a multi-format production, spanning film, mid-form, and short-form content.
Filming has already been completed, and the project is currently in post-production. It is scheduled for release in the second half of 2026.
