On April 2^nd, Lee Soon-jae appeared as a guest for the variety show, "Same Bed, Different Dreams - Season 2" and talked about his philosophy in love. He has been happily married to his wife for the last 53 years and he firmly believes in destiny. He shared, "Your fated one is not someone you should let go [once you come across him/her], so hold onto that person with all that you have".

When one of the host asked him a question of if he is a sweet husband to his wife, he said, "Rather than being sweet, I just tend to let her make all the decisions". Soon after his remark, he added that his wife calls him often when he is out and about, but he keeps the phone calls short.

The netizens are teasingly commenting, saying, "Papa Soon-jae must be shy that he admitted how submissive he is to his wife. That's why he added the phone call remark. He is such a tsundere". Many of the netizens agreed to the comment and added how nice to see their beloved veteran actor so faithful and loving towards his wife.
