[Lily's Take] SBS Drama Awards - Ji Sung dedicates his Grand Prize to Uhm Ki-joon

The winner of the 2017 SBS Drama Awards Grand Prize was Ji Sung. This excellent actor has done it again with his detailed acting and such captivating charm. His character development in the drama "Defendant" was greatly loved.

In his acceptance speech, he made sure to thank each person who helped him on his journey: the staff and director of "Defendant", fellow actors and actresses, his loyal fans, beautiful family, and especially his wife, actress Lee Bo-young, who was also awarded that night with a Top Excellence Award. Out of all the sincere gratitude he expressed in his speech, one name in particular stood out.

In the middle of the speech, he said, "I actually have someone else as the owner of this Grand Prize in my mind. It's actor Uhm Ki-joon who I've met through "Defendant". It would have not been easy for anyone else to play a villainous role like his. I've learned so much as we worked together and I respect him. (Looking at Uhm Ki-joon) This is your prize".

After his speech, the netizens agreed with Ji Sung saying that Uhm Ki-joon deserved a better prize than just a Character Award. Many people are saying they expected Uhm Ki-joon to win the Top Excellence Award, if not, a co-Grand Prize with Ji Sung. They also agreed that Ji Sung's thoughtful gesture of dedicating the award to Uhm Ki-joon was very sweet.
