Movie Star Sues Criminal Ring Leader

Movie star kwon Sang-woo has filed a lawsuit against an alleged criminal gang leader, claiming that he was threatened by him in July, according to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office Thursday.

According to the Prosecutors' Office, Kwon sued Kim Tae-chon, the alleged leader of the criminal ring "Sobang-pa" claiming that Kim had threatened him because he had given a lukewarm response to a plan for a fan meeting in Japan organized by Kim's acquaintance. Kwon told the prosecution that Kim called him with a threatening attitude and urged him to participate in a fan meeting in Japan that was being organized by Kim's acquaintance.

The prosecution said that Kwon appeared in Seoul Central District Court three times from September to October to answer to the complaint.

The police are currently investigating Kwon's charges. Kim is also suspected of bribing a former security officer at Chinju Prison in South Kyongsang Province, where he was imprisoned from April 2001 to August 2002.
