Shisei Kuwabara, the 90-year-old master of Japanese photojournalism.

Having traveled to Korea over 100 times in the past 60 years, he has documented the major and minor events that have traversed the Korean Peninsula. From the lives of ordinary people in Cheonggyecheon to the democratization movement, the Dongducheon base towns, the Vietnam War deployment, and daily life in Pyongyang through 100,000 photographs.

The vivid faces he could not let go of, despite enduring all manner of hardships, such as deportation from South Korea and a ban on entry from North Korea.
