Synopsis
The seventy years of modern South Korean history have been a history of martial law and civil resistance. From the establishment of the first government in 1948 to 2024, South Korea declared martial law a total of 16 times. Each time, the constitution was shaken, the people's freedom was suppressed, and power was placed under the military's boots. Yet, in each of those dark moments, citizens took to the streets. Bare-handed, they carried the light.
