Synopsis
The genius scientist Jang Yeong-sil rose from the status of a slave to a third-rank government official thanks to King Sejong's favor, but he completely vanished from history following the palanquin incident in 1442. Where did he disappear to?

In 20th-century London, Rubens's painting, "Man in Korean Costume", appears at Sir Christine's store. The identity of the mysterious Asian figure depicted by Rubens dates back to the 15th century during the reign of King Sejong the Great.

Although he was a slave, Jang Yeong-sil possessed a brilliant mind and received orders from the Ming Dynasty of China to either kill him or send him back to China. With King Sejong's help, he traveled to Europe with the Ming explorer General Zheng He and met the Pope in Italy; however, the Pope considered Jang Yeong-sil a heretic for believing the world was round and ordered his execution.

Escaping from the Pope and fleeing alone to Florence, Jang Yeong-sil met the seven-year-old Leonardo da Vinci, and together they began researching the "ornithopter", a flying machine...
