[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Woo Do-hwan, Yang Se-jong Offered Main Roles in Historical Drama "My Country: The New Age"

Sageuk brothers in opposing arms might just become an upcoming trend, if this and "The Nokdu Flower" are any indication. Woo Do-hwan and Yang Se-jong are being offered leading roles in jTBC's "My Country: The New Age", a historical drama about three men and women trying to protect their love while caught in the whirlpool of history.

Woo Do-hwan has been offered the role of Nam Seon-ho, a handsome young man skilled in literary and martial arts, but whose mother's status as a slave keeps him from even being added to his family tree. Yang Se-jong is up for the role of Seo-hwi, the son of a man commanding the northern regions under the rule of Yi Seong-gye. Like "The Nokdu Flower", status and family loyalty sound like the problem.
Seon-ho has a soulmate-like friendship with Seo-hwi, and dreams of passing the military exam, but his father's corruption destroys his dream, and a misunderstanding pits him against Seo-hwi. Well, this is going to be sad. "My Country: The New Age" will be written by Chae Seung-dae ("Master - God of Noodles", "Inspiring Generation") and helmed by PD Kim Jin-won-I ("Just Between Lovers", "Hello Monster"). It's looking into a release date in the second half of 2019.
