[Orion's Drama News] Age Gaps and Noodles
By Vasia Orion | Published on
I do not always pick complex subjects, but when I do, I pile them on. This week I briefly talk about disability and age gaps in upcoming dramas, although the topics deserve much more discussion than I can spare them here. You also get more promotional goodies, as we look into some dramas from the new season. I have my picks. They are many. Send help.

Weirdos for Weird Ori
Noodles I cannot eat do not sound exciting, until you drop fine teasers and stills along with the element of cooking for revenge. A show about paying taxes does not sound like the most exciting thing either, that is until you add Seo In-guk, Ma Dong-seok and Choi Soo-young in it and tell me it is from the "Bad Guys" crew. I am attracted to oddity, so I will be doing episode reviews for "Master - God of Noodles" and "Squad 38".
Drama Special "Perfect Sense"
Disability is a subject entertainment rarely tackles and Korean drama is no exception. When it does get featured, it is usually for melodrama and pity. "Perfect Sense" is an upcoming drama special handling the subject of blindness. I wish I had known these dramas get subtitled sooner, as I am now too busy to go through all the interesting titles, but "Perfect Sense" is definitely on my list.
The Romance of "Mirror of the Witch"
A reader asked for my opinion on the casting of "Mirror of the Witch". Personally, I support any age gap romance between consenting adults. People of any age, body type, sexual orientation, etc., have a right to love. Pairing teenagers with much older adults is not worrying by default, since not all pairings are romantic, but it is a tough subject when romance is involved. "Love in the Moonlight" has a similar pairing, although it is a youth drama and with actors close to the age of adulthood on either side. I do not know how "Mirror of the Witch" will portray its romance and I dare not follow, but here are some still cuts and a teaser for those who will.
Upcoming Drama Goodies
On the casting side, Jo Yoon-woo has joined "Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth", Yoon Kye-sang adds to the impressive cast of "The Good Wife" and we have updated the list for "Beautiful Gong Shim". "The Flower in Prison" has released some cheerful stills of Jin Se-yeon and "Another Miss Oh" has been dropping more teasers found here and here. Another teaser comes from "Dear My Friends". "Entertainers" has some funky posters and we finally have a video from "Lucky Romance".
Followed Dramas
The time has come to leave "Descendants of the Sun" behind, but here are my final thoughts on what could have been better, but accomplished some good things nonetheless. "Please Come Back, Mister" will be reviewed next week, because I have not finished it. My current favorite is "Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho", but I hope its ratings will not tempt the production to change it. Which currently airing drama is your own personal favorite?
