KBS 2TV's special weekend drama "Iron Family" (directed by Seong Joon-hae, written by Seo Sook-hyang / production Keyeast, Monster Union), which is scheduled to premiere on September 28th, is a romantic black comedy that takes place when Da-rim's family who owns a laundromat, irons money instead of clothes.
Park Ji-young plays the role of Go Bong-hee, who is running a clean laundry shop run by her parents-in-law, Ahn Gil-rye (Kim Young-ok) and Lee Man-deuk (Park In-hwan). Bong-hee, who has been taking care of her parents-in-law and children on behalf of her late husband, is always concerned about her youngest daughter, Lee Da-rim (Keum Sae-rok), who has a hard time with her eyes. Bong-hee, who has found a way to treat her daughter's eyes like a miracle, gives up her pride and does everything she can to pay for a large amount of surgery.
In a related development, a still of Go Bong-hee (Park Ji-young) was unveiled on Wednesday. The toughness of providing for her parents-in-law and three children alone without a husband is also palpable. Having inherited the laundry store from her parents-in-law, Bong-hee accidentally encounters Cha Tae-woong (Choi Tae-joon) and takes care of him like her own.
The production team of "Iron Family" said, "Bong-hee is expected to make the drama more interesting by going beyond expectations to pay for Da-rim's eye surgery", adding, "Park Ji-young's character is a little different from the K-mother we have seen so far, so it will give viewers fresh empathy and lingering feelings".
