Pop Idol Admits Taking Drugs

K-Pop idol Park Yoo-chun on Monday admitted taking drugs after vehemently denying the charges for weeks, according to police in Gyeonggi Province. He finally caved in after hours of questioning.

Park was arrested last Friday and is accused of buying crystal meth three times in February and March of this year and taking it with his ex-girlfriend.

Police quoted Park as saying, "It was difficult for me to let go of myself, but I believe I should take responsibility for my actions and apologize for my wrongdoing".

He claimed to have started taking the drugs again this year after reuniting with his ex-girlfriend, dairy heiress Hwang Hana.

Hwang ratted on Park after she herself was arrested on drugs charges, Park then staged a tearful press conference where he staked his professional career on his innocence, but besides CCTV evidence apparently showing him paying for and receiving the drugs on at least one occasion, a drug test of his hair samples also came back positive.

Last week he was still protesting his innocence, saying he "is trying to discover how crystal meth traces found their way into his body".

Park and Hwang split up last year but apparently got back for some more meth sessions early this year.
