[Press Release] CJ ENM Enters All Five Major FAST/AVOD Platforms in the U.S

Leading entertainment company CJ ENM launches a branded service on The Roku Channel, following Samsung TV Plus, Pluto TV, Peacock, and Tubi TV.

Leading entertainment company CJ ENM launches a branded service on The Roku Channel, following Samsung TV Plus, Pluto TV, Peacock, and Tubi TV. CJ ENM now supplies content to all of the five major FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming Television) and AVOD (Advertising-based Video On Demand) platforms in North America. Last year, CJ ENM distributed content to Samsung TV Plus, Pluto TV (Paramount), Peacock (NBC Universal) through its brand channels and recently were added to Tubi TV (Fox) and The Roku Channel, one of the largest streaming companies in North America.

FAST/AVOD refers to a video streaming service that allows users who have access to the internet to view content through Smart TVs, Set-Top Boxes, applications, and platform websites. Unlike the OTT platform, which is a subscription-based video streaming service represented by Netflix, Disney Plus, and Amazon Prime, viewers can watch content for free with advertisements. With the benefit of no monthly charges, it is expanding quickly across the world, including the North American market. The current market leaders in North America include Samsung TV Plus, Pluto TV, Peacock, Tubi TV, and The Roku Channel.

CJ ENM started servicing under the 'K-Drama+' section last month on Fox-acquired Tubi TV, one of the top AVOD providers in North America, providing over 40,000 movies and entertainment content around the world. CJ ENM and Tubi TV plan to introduce a separate CJ ENM brand channel featuring CJ ENM's dramas, movies, entertainment, and K-pop content.

The Roku Channel introduced CJ ENM's FAST channel, 'About K-Contents by CJ ENM". The Roku Channel is a free streaming platform widely used by customers in North America, Latin America, and Europe. CJ ENM plans to provide monthly dramas, movies, K-pop content, and popular entertainment series such as "Youn's Kitchen" and "EXchange" in the U.S. via the Roku Channel.

CJ ENM content is also available to customers in North America on Apple TV under its exclusive brand channel, 'CJ ENM Selects'. CJ ENM plans to diversify its content distribution by collaborating with various partners in the rapidly growing K-content market in North America. SVOD service on Apple TV, allows consumers to experience the latest content for $4.99/month or $49.99/year. It is operated under the channel name "CJ ENM Selects" on Apple TV, and CJ ENM's latest and major content such as the dramas "Hotel Del Luna", "Work Later, Drink Now", movies "Confidential Assignment" and "Extreme Job" are being serviced. The content is classified into a total of five categories, including Bingeable K-Dramas, Best of K-movies, Romance, Crime & Thriller, and Critics' Favorites, making it accessible to North American viewers who are not familiar with Korean content.

CJ ENM aims to expand the K-content market by supplying customized content to the North American FAST/AVOD platform, as well as increase brand awareness to establish itself as a major provider of K-content. "The expansion of FAST/AVOD services in North America has laid the groundwork for more viewers to access a diversified and broad range of CJ ENM content", said Sebastian Kim, the director of CJ ENM Content Sales & Acquisitions. "In addition to the major operators who signed the contract earlier, we will diversify the content distribution structure through cooperation with various operators in North America and other regions", he added.
