[Press Release] KOREAN CINEMA AT FANTASIA 2026

After winning the Jury Award at the Florence Korea Film Festival 2026, Fantasia audiences will have the chance to experience the North American Premiere of "The Mutation", the latest feature film from acclaimed Korean director Shin Su-won ("Madonna", "Glass Garden"). In this heartwarming story of self-discovery, a native Korean man, born to Korean parents as a black individual, and a lesbian woman, still holding onto memories of her ex-lover, embark on a journey together.

For its Canadian Premiere, Fantasia is excited to be screening "The Journey to Gyeongju", which took home the Audience Award at the Florence Korea Film Fest 2026. This unpredictable voyage of love, loss, and redemption from director Kim Mi-jo ("Gull") follows four women who set out on a revenge-driven family trip to Gyeongju upon hearing of the release of the murderer who killed the family's youngest daughter.
