According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, rain will start falling in South Jeolla Province and Jeju at noon on Tuesday, and then spread to other regions, drenching the whole country by late afternoon.
Mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, which were engulfed by massive forest fires last week, are expected to see 3 to 8 cm of snow, which will help extinguish any remaining embers there.
After the rainfall, daytime temperatures will be 3 to 5 degrees Celsius lower than usual on Wednesday.
