SBS on MBC Drama Overlap With Im Soo-hyang, "No Problem"

SBS announced its position on the controversy over overlapping SBS and MBC dramas starring actress Im Soo-hyang.

"Since it was scheduled for April, I didn't know about her overlapping appearance or other dramas", an SBS drama official told Exports News on the 6th. "I don't think there will be a problem because the day, time, and subject matter of the drama are completely different".

Im Soo-hyang will star in MBC's "Doctor Lawyer" and SBS's "Woori the Virgin", with "Doctor Lawyer" set to air for the first time on May 27. Controversy arose over the overlapping schedule of SBS's "Woori the Virgin" which was scheduled to air on SBS OTT, as a new Monday-Tuesday drama in May.

MBC, which earlier scheduled "Doctor Lawyer" as a new Friday-Saturday drama in May, is expressing displeasure over the overlapping timing of the lead actress' appearance.

According to SBS, "Woori the Virgin" was originally scheduled to air on the 11th of this month as a follow-up to "Business Proposal". However, due to the circumstances of the production company Group Eight, the schedule was inevitably moved to May.
